Kyle Mowery is the Portfolio Manager and Founder at CoVest Select. With 16 years of investment experience, Kyle began his career at PAAMCO, a leading fund of hedge funds, where he served as an analyst. Subsequently, Kyle invested directly in high yield corporate securities at T.H. Lee Senior Credit Strategies, working on both primary issuances and secondary trade recommendations in private and public businesses. Afterward, Kyle joined BMO Capital Markets’ middle market leveraged finance team. As a generalist, Kyle and the team were responsible for investing bank capital; evaluating and managing funding with private companies across industries such as consumer, healthcare, industrial, and business services. Kyle founded CoVest Select in 2012.

Kyle has an MBA from University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business with concentrations in in Finance, Accounting, and Entrepreneurship. Kyle’s undergraduate degree is a B.A. in Economics from UCLA.

Mike is a Senior Analyst at CoVest Select. He is involved in all aspects of the fundamental-research process including idea generation, primary research, ongoing diligence, and portfolio maintenance. Prior to joining CoVest Select, Mike was an analyst for Discover Equity Partners, where he focused on primary screening and fundamental research for small-cap activist strategies.

Mike is a CFA Charterholder and holds a B.B.A. in Finance, Investment and Banking from University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Jake is an Analyst at CoVest Select. He is involved in all aspects of the fundamental research process including due diligence for co-investments. Prior to joining CoVest Select, Jake was an analyst and portfolio manager at a large New York City-based family office where he managed a concentrated equity portfolio focused on the industrial, technology, business and financial services and alternative energy sectors. Prior to the family office, Jake worked as an investment banking analyst and equity research associate. Jake has regularly been a guest lecturer and student mentor at Columbia Business School. Jake’s work has received numerous awards including being the number one ranked all-time analyst on SumZero.

Jake is a CFA Charterholder and has an MBA from the Applied Value Investing program at Columbia Business School. Jake’s undergraduate degree is a B.S. in Economics from Colgate University.

Mark manages business development, marketing and investor relations at CoVest Select. Mark has 20+ years of experience in the alternatives industry, raising over $1.2 billion for emerging hedge fund managers. Prior to CoVest Select, Mark was head of alternatives marketing for Ancora, an RIA and manager of traditional and alternative investments. Prior to that, Mark was head of sales and marketing for FSI Group, a NYC based financial equity hedge fund. Prior to that, Mark was the Director of Sales for Cole Partners, a third-party marketing firm based in Chicago focused on emerging hedge fund managers.

Mark has a B.B.A. in Finance and Marketing from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Ryan and his team perform CoVest Select’s middle and back-office function on an outsourced basis. Ryan has extensive operational and compliance experience including investment vehicle launch and operation, long/short equity, domestic and offshore parallel and master feeder structures, separately managed accounts and side pockets.

Ryan has a B.B.A in Finance from the University of Notre Dame.

Jonathan is a member of the CoVest Select Board of Advisors. He has over 20 years of investment management experience. Jonathan founded Vitalogy as a long short investment fund focused on corporate equity and credit dislocations, alpha short selling and constructive activist situations. Before Vitalogy, he was head of equity opportunities at Magnetar Capital. Prior to that, he was a PM at Balyasny Asset Management and Pentwater Capital Management. Jonathan began his career working with former investment professionals of the Field and Pritzker families.

Jonathan received a B.S. in Finance and Management from the University of Colorado, Boulder. He is an advisor to several corporate and investment management businesses.

Elizabeth is a member of the CoVest Select Board of Advisors. She offers the management team her advice and assistance with business oversight and decision making. Elizabeth currently serves as a manager at AFO Blackberry, a family office based in Chicago and has over 10 years of industry experience. 

Elizabeth graduated with honors from Colorado College where she received a Bachelor of Arts with a major in International Political Economy.
